what i really wanted for above my sewing table was a cute little chandelier. you know the kind, where you can just plug it into a socket?
the light in my sewing room isn't very bright, and i thought i could find something at ikea that wouldn't be too expensive. thing is, they didn't really have anything cute.
so of course i asked the man if i had really seen it all. you never know. he might have had a secret room in the back with all sorts of cute plug in hanging lights. the kind that only really special customers get to see. i'm just saying.
but, who am i kidding? it's ikea. no secret rooms.
apparently though, they do have some secrets. i found out at least this one. i feel special.
did you know that they sell a little ol' cord that looks like this:
and, guess what you can do with it? you can pick ANY lampshade (i chose this beauty) and turn it into a hanging light.
so, that's what i did.
i *heart* ikea.
don't be jealous. you can do it too. drop off your 3 kids into the ikea smalland in the middle of the afternoon when you should be homeschooling, grap a $2 latte, and walk around the store with your sister in law. or whoever, it doesn't matter.
and then make for yourself a $19 dollar hanging lamp.
