this and that

yesterday my two sweet children decided to have an indoor picnic.
my heart just melted and i just couldn't believe how sweetly they had set the whole thing up!

do you like the way their arranged the boy/girl blankets on the table?

their lunch choices were also healthy.

see?

spinach hummus, garlic parmesan pita chips, an apple and water.

the dog didn't want to be left out either!  so, she made a home under the table.

i wish i could say they were so nice to each other all day, but it would be a lie.  later that afternoon, those two smiling children were fighting over whose turn it was to "ride" on the sleeping bag.  no one would sacrifice their turn even after i threatened to take it away.

but, for a short time, they were sharing, laughing and enjoying being siblings.

it's the little things people!

So sweet! I guess treasuring those and remembering those moments are how you get through the others, eh!? =)
Um, must share recipes for your hummus and chips!!
Hope you feel better soon!

First of all, I love that they each have to have their own table cloth. Too cute. Secondly, the shutters above my fire place I found at this junky little antique place in Issaquah. They were already that color, I just pressure washed them to get the gunk off. The guy has about 50 of them. They came of an old hotel in Singapore. I paid 25 dollars each.

I had been looking for shutters forever, and one day Jeff went a new way home and saw them on his drive. It was fate I tell you. If you're interested, here is the name and address of the place.

Hillside Farm
Antiques, collectibles, primitives & yard art. On Sunset Highway; take 900 off 405 or I-90.
Address: 11309 Renton-Issaquah Road SE, Issaquah, WA 98027

Oh you have to enjoy those moments! I'm sometimes shocked by how well mine can get along however short lived it is.

It doesn't need to last forever to melt a mothers heart. It will still last forever in yours.
